Officers from the Darien Police Department received a report of two suspicious men shortly before 3 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, who were caught on security camera running up the driveway of a Littlebrook Road driveway.

Upon arrival, officers found two suspicious teenagers from Norwalk walking in the area, and when they were questioned as to why they were there and where they were going, police said, and that they provided conflicting stories.

Ultimately, police said that the teens admitted to attempting to steal a car to drive home, and both were arrested.

At Darien Police Headquarters, the two 17-year-olds were charged with first-degree criminal attempt at larceny. Additionally, one of the teens was found to be in possession of sunglasses that may have previously been stolen in a different incident.

The two teens - whose names were not released due to their status as juveniles - were released to their parents and scheduled to appear in Stamford Juvenile Court later this year to respond to the charges.
